Have you ever wondered what will become of the world in the next 10, 20 or 50 years?, I’m sure many of us believe technology will have advanced, and robots will have been doing the works of many people. These are the bright sides that we all envision, but will things actually be better in the years to come? If things will be better, will it be for everyone? Won’t some be enjoying and living at large while some will be suffering greatly? Won’t massacre and war records not get broken? Won’t organizations we believe will help and fight for the less powerful become defunct? Won’t colonization happen again in a more 'nicer' way? These and many others are what we should ask ourselves about what the future has for us.
Truly, we’ve seen machines do the work of many, using photographers is not necessary before a documentation has to be done as we now have drones and sophisticated cameras, we’ve seen colossal computers and machines get replaced by medium and small sized ones, and these medium and small sized replacements even have better features. Technology has advanced indeed and has been doing us good, have we thought about what more it can bring.
Hiroshima bombing is one of the most memorable things not only in Japan, but in the world. So when did this bombing happened, in the last decade? No! Despite the enormous effects of these bombing that happened way back, many scientists are still working day and night and making new discoveries. These everyday works and discoveries, are they all about making the world better, are some not about how the whole world can be destroyed, are some not about how incapacitating others?
Let’s get this right, these do not imply the future doesn’t look bright, it’s auspicious.
To avoid calling out countries, names will not be mentioned, but facts will be made.
Let’s look at this, truly, the highly ranked countries of the world keep on advancing, but on what? The economy is okay, and the weapons are getting more sophisticated. Who needs a cannon when a single button can put all countries on their knees?, who needs to launch a secret attack when a virus can upset the balance of all countries?
Back to talking about the future, let’s ask ourselves again, in 1990, how was the world envisioned to be in the coming 30 years (2020), going pretty well right? Well, the Covid-19 pandemic shocked the whole world. However, fire fought and is still fighting fire, countries are getting back on their feet. The truth behind this will someday, be revealed one day.
Ask yourself, how will you feel if you were a professional photographer and an inexperienced person calls you out and challenges you with low quality images? What will you do? No matter how patient you are, you’ll feel the urge to show even, just one of your pictures and let the person know you’re not at the same level with him/her. This will be the case if countries you believe are not as good as you are pass their boundaries towards you, you’ll feel the urge to show them even one of your capabilities, like one of your sophisticated weapons.
In the coming years, a lot of countries will be silenced. Many countries will be outright handed to bigger countries because of how much they are indebted to them. Indebted in this sense is not limited to monetary things.
It’s very certain some countries will enjoy and live in very comfortable conditions, note the word 'some’.
DNAs will be altered to produce what some people call super soldiers, many will bow, organizations meant to maintain order won’t have the power to, these and many others will happen, just a matter of time.
Some worshippers already believed the world won’t be destroyed by water or other natural phenomenons as they have been used to destroy people in the past. If this actually is true, and with the way the future looks, it’s quite evident with the way things are going, we humans may eventually be the cause of our own extinction.
Recently, we’ve seen different things that can lead to war. In the last five years, more than 5 million people have died due to human activities. If you weigh this with the number of people that died due to human activities in the within the last 25 years to 20 years, we’ll realize the future we’re already in a part of is not what we envisioned, it leaves much to be desired.
Remember it was said that the future can also be auspicious, if, and only if we want it to.
The be-all and end-all of this is that our future lies in our own hands, it’s quite auspicious, and at the same time, looking perilous.
